Providing both technical and people leadership, the position oversees a multi-disciplinary team across Linux systems support and infrastructure engineering, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and responsive operational culture.
It plays a key role in maintaining platform availability through effective incident management, on-call leadership, and acting as an escalation point for complex and high-impact issues.
The role holds end-to-end operational accountability for platform services delivered across both in-house teams and Managed Service Partners, ensuring visibility, alignment with technical standards, and adherence to service expectations.
It contributes to governance and service level management while maintaining strong oversight of platform health, capacity, performance, and security compliance in line with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and relevant frameworks.
Working collaboratively across cloud, connectivity, HPC and application teams, the position supports integrated service delivery and the successful coordination of project and program resources.
It also ensures effective lifecycle management of platform assets, including patching, upgrades, and refresh activities, to maintain currency and mitigate risk.
