Our Technology team is building an AI-first business: practical software, analytics, AI tools and automations that make our office and operational teams more productive.
That frees them to focus on what matters most, which is building our country's vital infrastructure.
About the role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role.
You'll design, develop and look after digital solutions that connect our systems, automate manual work and turn data into strategic decisions.
You'll work alongside our Information Technology Manager and the wider Technology team.
You'll also have plenty of opportunities to visit our projects and learn what we do, how we do it and why.
That understanding is what lets you build solutions that work in the real world.
What you'll do
Build and maintain internal applications, integrations and automations, using AI-assisted development to deliver fasterWork with our AI tools and agent frameworks, including ChatGPT, Claude, the OpenAI Agents SDK and our internal AI platformsDevelop and improve analytical tools, including Power BI dashboards, semantic models, automated reporting and SQL databasesBuild and maintain integrations between our systems to improve collaboration and remove double-handlingTroubleshoot application, integration and data issuesWork directly with corporate and project teams to understand their problems and build solutions they'll actually useVisit project sites from time to time to learn more about our business and the industryAttend industry technology events and conferences
What you'll bring
2+ years' experience building and shipping working solutionsStrong SQL skills (highly regarded)Practical Python and React experience (highly regarded)Sound development fundamentals: source control, APIs, debugging, testing and maintainable codePower BI experience, or the aptitude to pick it up quicklyCuriosity about AI tools and how to use them responsibly to build better solutionsClear communication with both technical and non-technical teamsA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or similar, or equivalent experienceA current Drivers Licence
