Senior Data Platform Engineer (with Lead track) Amsterdam | Working from home (Hybrid) Are you passionate about building scalable cloud platforms that make real-world impact? At Xccelerated, we're looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help evolve and scale a cloud data platform at a large, customer-facing energy organisation. Four days a week you'll build and run the platform. One day a week you'll invest in our community of consultants as a trainer, coach and technical assessor, with the opportunity to grow into an internal Lead role. 💡 Why Join Us? ✔ Take ownership of a modern data platform that serves millions of customers ✔ Work on real-world use cases ranging from real-time data processing to advanced analytics and data science ✔ Gain hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Python and event-driven architectures ✔ Combine deep technical work with training, coaching and mentoring ✔ Clear growth path towards an internal Lead role at Xccelerated ✔ Collaborate with experienced engineers, data scientists and platform teams 🚀 What You'll Be Doing At our client (4 days per week) 🔹 Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS 🔹 Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) 🔹 Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation, mainly in Python 🔹 Keep the platform stable, observable and cost-efficient, and continuously improve it 🔹 Enable data scientists and data engineers to bring pipelines and models into production 🔹 Contribute to the architecture and roadmap of the data platform At Xccelerated (1 day per week) 🔹 Give technical training to our consultants in Data & Cloud 🔹 Coach and guide consultants in their technical and professional development 🔹 Support our recruitment team with technical assessments and candidate evaluation 🔹 Share best practices and help raise the technical bar across the community 🔹 Grow towards an internal Lead role, with more ownership over training, coaching and the technical direction 👨 💻 Who You Are You are a hands-on senior engineer who enjoys building scalable platforms and also likes helping others grow. ✅ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cloud, IT, or a related field ✅ 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering or DevOps ✅ Strong experience with AWS cloud services ✅ Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) ✅ Strong Python skills ✅ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices ✅ Enjoy explaining, training and coaching others, and you're able to assess technical talent ✅ Familiar with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt or Kafka is a plus ✅ Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus 🎁 What We Offer At Xccelerated, we don't just offer a job, we offer a launchpad for your career in Data & Cloud. 💰 Competitive salary – we value your skills and experience 📈 A growth path towards an internal Lead role 🛫 25 vacation days – take the rest you need 📙 The chance to shape our training and onboarding programme 📊 Weekly technical training and innovation days throughout the year 💻 A company laptop and top-tier tools 🍎 Delicious lunches, great coffee, and a well-stocked snack bar 🌍 About Us Xccelerated (part of the Xebia Group) is a tech accelerator that empowers engineers to become leaders in Data & Cloud.
