Description
About Us & The Project
Piano is a global AI-driven platform for digital revenue optimization, trusted by industry leaders like the BBC, Nikkei, and Wall Street Journal.
You’ll join a focused team of 2–3 engineers responsible for the CI/CD pipelines and Release Management lifecycle of our high-complexity, hybrid platform.
Sitting at the heart of Piano’s billing & subscription domain, your work directly ensures deployment precision, pipeline reliability, and release safety for a global customer base.
What You’ll Do:
– Build, maintain, and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for a hybrid monolith & microservices architecture.
– Implement release management workflows: versioning, branching strategies, deployment runbooks, and rollback procedures.
– Integrate automated quality gates (unit, integration, smoke tests) directly into CI/CD pipelines.
– Instrument pipelines with observability tools (Datadog, OpenTelemetry) and track DORA metrics.
– Handle deployment incident response through root-cause analysis, mitigation, and long-term fixes.
– Champion engineering best practices in CI/CD, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code.
What We’re Looking For:
– Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Release Engineering.
– Core Tech: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS (EKS, ECS, S3, IAM), and pipeline-as-code tools.
– App Stack Familiarity: Working knowledge of Java 21 / Kotlin 2.0 / Spring Boot and Gradle (Kotlin DSL).
– Delivery & Testing: Deep understanding of branching strategies (Trunk-based, GitFlow), Observability, and integrating test frameworks (JUnit 5, Testcontainers).
– Languages: Polish and English (at least B2 level).
Nice to Have:
Experience with Terraform/Pulumi, Apache Kafka, database migration tools (Flyway/Liquibase for MySQL 8.0), Feature Flag platforms (LaunchDarkly/Unleash), and working with monolith architectures.
Tech Stack:
– Languages & Frameworks: Java 21, Kotlin 2.0, Spring Boot
– Data & Messaging: MySQL 8.0, Redis, DynamoDB, Apache Kafka
– Ops & Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Gradle (Kotlin DSL)
– Observability: Datadog, OpenTelemetry
What We Offer:
– Contract: B2B
– Time Off: 20 days of paid leave.
– Perks: Lunch Card and Luxmed private healthcare.
