Location: Brisbane Category: Engineering / Technical Position Type: Permanent Job Reference: BOE/1948265B Attachments: Share This: Software Engineer - MQ-28 Ghost Bat The Opportunity Boeing Defence Australia and the MQ-28 Program is seeking a Software Engineer to support continued development and automation of our digital test, integration and verification environments, enabling us to iterate faster and continuously deploy new capability to the aircraft. The MQ-28 is a first-of-type Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), providing autonomous, uncrewed capabilities for the Australian warfighter. This role is based in Brisbane and will report into the MQ-28 Digital Model Ecosystem Engineering Manager. Essential Skills: Experience with Object-Oriented Design practices and familiarity with Python.Experience with Linux software development environments.Ability to respond to high level guidance to create a minimum viable product.Knowledge and experience in the application of Agile Software Development principles.A passion for problem solving and a willingness to learn within a dynamic environment.Practice good software engineering habits. An ability to produce clear, technical and testable artefacts (code, documentation and test plans) for review by cross-functional stakeholders, implement review feedback and follow security and maintainability best practices. Experience And Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in industry, with experience in autonomous systems, robotics or related applications.Experience with messaging protocols, data exchange, data analysis and simulation tools.Familiarity with and ability to support software test and evaluation.Past experience in software development for Defence software applications is desirable.Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics and/or Electrical Engineering. Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements and be able to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
