Senior Java Data Developer

Global Cyber Security product company seeks a talented Senior Java Developer with a heavy Data (Big Data) background. Must have a solution design mindset, Will work on challenging next generation products. 1 year renewable contract. $950 Daily. Mostly Work-From-Home option. Must reside in Sydney. Candidate will perform complex research, design, and Java software development — typically across multiple systems. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • Knowledge of Spark, Hadoop, SnowFlake, DataBricks, OR Trino. • Top Java coding skills and good experience with Kafka. • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). • Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques. • Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles. • Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems. • Knowledge in using and developing applicable tool sets. • Knowledge of test-driven development. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. • Write and review portions of detailed Java code specifications for the development of complex system components. • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
