The Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions across a range of enterprise and mission-critical platforms.
This ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong Java development expertise, experience building APIs and microservices, and a passion for creating secure, high-performing applications.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and play a key role throughout the full software development lifecycle.
You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring quality, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software solutions across multiple platforms.Build and maintain high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable codebases.Develop and deploy APIs and microservices using modern development frameworks.Participate in software architecture, technical design, and solution planning activities.Review code, provide technical guidance, and contribute to engineering best practices.Break down business and product requirements into user stories and technical deliverables.Automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.Support CI/CD pipeline development and continuous delivery initiatives.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and platform issues.Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams to design practical solutions.Produce technical documentation, design artefacts, and operational support documentation.Research emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives.Support system performance tuning, optimisation, and platform reliability improvements.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.Identify, manage, and escalate risks that may impact project delivery.
What You'll Need
Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java.Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot.Experience working within the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.Experience working with messaging technologies such as Kafka and ActiveMQ.Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases including:MySQLMongoDBClickHouseExperience with version control and source code management tools such as Git, BitBucket, or GitLab.Experience working with DevOps tooling including:BambooJiraSonarQubeVeracodeExperience developing secure, high-performance, and scalable applications.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment.
