Become a part of our caring community The Software Engineer 2 standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Planning, Analysis and Design Understand business purpose of software solution requestsParticipate in major feature planningParticipate in analysis of how to best meet purpose and features resulting in logical requirements documentation (can include build, buy or hybrid solutions)Participate in the process to design solutions to meet objectives (data structures, system processes, services, user interfaces, etc.) Development, Integration, Testing and Implementation Write, update and maintain in-house engineered software solutions utilizing Humana Military approved toolsWrite, update and maintain software to integrate purchase software solutions utilizing Humana Military approved toolsConfigure purchased software to meet business and IT requirementsAssist in creating comprehensive test cases for functional and regression testing plansAssist testing teams with automating test casesAssist end users with UAT as neededParticipate in sessions for creating detailed deployment plansPrepare system documentation as directedProvide on call support as scheduled Required Qualifications Use your skills to make an impact 3-5 years of experience in systems analysis or application programming developmentExperience with a modern Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and other software development toolsMust be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesNet8/10building WebAPIsDependency Injectionbuilding Web MVC applicationsJavaScript/Bootstrap, CI/CD Ado pipelines Preferred Qualifications Project management experienceMaster's DegreeHealthcare related experienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field Additional Information Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $80,900 - $110,300 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
