Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company decarbonising heavy industry. We’re making synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels, sustaining life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. There is no boilerplate engineering in this system, only the most innovative, problem solving engineers can thrive on this challenge. We practice our culture, working in small teams, expecting complete ownership and ground up reasoning from our engineers, whilst executing at speed. You will report directly to the Head of Electrolysis. We operate with minimal process and bureaucracy, only what is essential to ensure our systems are safe, legally compliant, and deployed on time, everything else is up to you. The role Own process engineering of Rivan’s alkaline water electrolyser, covering both stack design and wider balance of plant. You’ll take processes from first-principles concepts through P&IDs, equipment specification, detailed design, factory build and commissioning. Including: Ideate novel architectures and system integrations from first principlesOwn the full process design & engineering lifecycle from concept to commissioningWork with mechanical engineers & workshop technicians to drive test rig development and validate hypothesesLead process safety engineering engineering - HAZOP/LOPA studies, relief systems and containmentSolve complex fluid and thermal problems, including multiphase flow and gas liquid systemsWork cross-functionally with engineers and technicians to bring your ideas to life, supporting commissioning and deployment Core skills 5+ years professional experienceBachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering or related fieldExperience designing, building, commissioning and operating deployed process plantsHands on workshop fabrication and build experience Preferable skills Hydrogen electrolysis, and/or other electrochemical processesProducing and handling flammable gassesMultiphase flow Specifics £70-100k Salary depending on experienceSignificant share options as part of the early teamIn-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South-East LondonExtensive relocation support, including £6000 per year extra to live close to our HQPrivate health insuranceVisa sponsorship availableUnlimited time-off We encourage exceptional applicants from all backgrounds to apply for this role, even if they do not meet all the requirements listed.
