Wright Engineering is looking to recruit an experienced Site Surveyor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role will be based primarily on one of our projects in North London, with travel to other customer sites across the UK as required. The successful candidate should therefore be comfortable with working away from home when necessary. We are looking for a technically capable and experienced surveyor with a strong understanding of construction and engineering environments, who can work accurately and confidently alongside site management, engineers and installation teams. Key Responsibilities Setting out mechanical equipment, structural steelwork, supports and associated installations using coordinates and dimensioned engineering drawings. Operating precision total stations and other specialist surveying equipment. Establishing and checking control points, datums, levels and benchmarks. Carrying out dimensional checks and verification surveys of installed works. Completing as-built surveys and producing accurate as-built information. Compiling and submitting survey reports and records in line with client requirements. Identifying and reporting discrepancies between drawings, coordinates and actual site conditions. Liaising closely with site management, engineers and installation teams regarding setting-out requirements. Maintaining accurate, traceable and well-organised survey records throughout the works. Supporting the wider project team with surveying and dimensional control requirements as needed. About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience working as a Site Surveyor, preferably within mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, construction or industrial projects. Strong experience in setting out from engineering drawings and coordinates. Experience using total stations and precision surveying equipment. A good understanding of levels, datums, benchmarks and dimensional control. The ability to identify discrepancies and communicate technical issues clearly. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping. What We Offer £50,000–£60,000 salary, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.
