About The Opportunity A well-established, European-based software organization with a growing Canadian contingent of talent in Ottawa, is seeking an experienced Senior Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to help scale, secure, and maintain our global infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. In this role, you will bridge physical hardware management with cloud-native automation, partnering closely with SREs and development teams to ensure high availability, strong observability, and resilient operations. This is a permanent position with one of the region's top employers. While this organization is remote-friendly, there may be some infrequent on-call work required and thus only candidates local to Ottawa/NCR will be considered. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Cloud Operations: Provision and manage multi-cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and bare-metal (datacentre and hardware maintenance, racking and cabling, etc.) environments to ensure high reliability, performance, and uptimeAutomation & IaC: Streamline operations and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc. ) and scripting (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)Observability & Incident Response: Monitor system health via observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.), drive incident troubleshooting, and join on-call rotationsSecurity & Disaster Recovery: Implement security controls, execute backup testing, and build resilient disaster recovery proceduresCollaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Partner with developers and SREs to optimize service delivery while maintaining operational runbooks and community support documentation About You The successful candidate will have the following: Experience: 7+ years of dedicated professional experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE environments with experience maintaining bare-metal/physical server infrastructurePhysical Infrastructure & Hardware: Strong knowledge of datacentre etiquette, hardware ordering and maintenance, physically racking and managing hardware and cablingLinux & Containerization: Deep understanding of Linux administration and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)Cloud & Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed architecture (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch)Automation & IaC: Proficiency in modern scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go, Typescript, etc.) and automation/IaC frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)Soft Skills & Execution: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects independently About the Job The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000 and is commensurate of experience, in addition to a competitive benefits package, bonus, and vacation allotment.
