Software Engineer I (SATCOM)

Job Description As part of an agile engineering team, you will design, develop, and integrate SATCOM and connectivity systems for Honeywell Aerospace. You will have the opportunity to contribute to solutions that enhance safe and efficient aircraft operations and improve passenger experience. Working with state-of-the-art technologies, you will help identify and develop new approaches to address business challenges and create value for our customers. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Responsibilities Key responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain software for SATCOM and connectivity systems. Design and implement software in C/C++, Python, and related technologies. Support requirements definition, verification, validation, and certification activities. Create and execute software test procedures and reports. Ensure compliance with applicable standards and processes. Perform additional duties as required to support business needs. Qualifications Key skills and qualifications Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Knowledge of C or C++ programming. Strong command of English. Self-motivated and proactive, with strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate effectively, learn from feedback, and work independently. High integrity and interest in working in a fast-paced, global environment. We value Knowledge of software engineering principles and software development lifecycle. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python). Familiarity with DO-178 objectives. Experience with configuration management tools.
