The Role We are looking for a Senior Systems & Storage Engineer to design, build, and evolve the software foundations behind our storage products. This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who enjoys working close to the system: storage stacks, I/O paths, Linux internals, performance optimization, and the boundary between software and hardware. You will make architectural decisions, turn complex product needs into reliable technical designs, and help establish a high bar for engineering quality across the team. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, infrastructure teams, and international stakeholders. What You’ll Do Design and develop high-performance, reliable systems software and backend services in Go, C, and/or C++.Architect and improve storage-related components, including I/O paths, RAID functionality, file systems, and system integrations.Build scalable service and API layers using REST and gRPC where appropriate.Own technical designs from early requirements through implementation, testing, release, and ongoing improvement.Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews across engineering and product teams.Identify system bottlenecks through profiling and benchmarking, then drive practical performance improvements.Partner with DevOps and infrastructure engineers to strengthen CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, observability, and release reliability.Write and maintain robust unit, integration, and system-level tests.Mentor engineers, share practical systems knowledge, and raise the team’s technical standards.Translate customer and business requirements into clear, maintainable technical solutions. What You Bring 5+ years of professional experience developing backend, systems, infrastructure, or storage software.Strong proficiency in Go, with solid production experience in C and/or C++.Demonstrated experience designing and delivering production-grade systems with meaningful ownership.A strong understanding of Linux and operating-systems fundamentals, including processes, memory management, concurrency, synchronization, IPC, and debugging.Strong experince working in Linux development environments and writing Shell scripts.Experience designing systems that balance performance, reliability, maintainability, and product requirements.Strong Git-based development practices, including collaborative code review and version-control workflows.Excellent English communication skills for technical discussions, documentation, and day-to-day collaboration with an international team.The judgment and ownership expected of a senior engineer: you can independently drive ambiguous problems, make sound trade-offs, and elevate those around you. Nice to Have Experience with storage systems, RAID, NVMe, file systems, block storage, kernel interfaces, or I/O-stack development.Familiarity with hardware-software integration, drivers, embedded systems, or firmware development.Experience with performance profiling, benchmarking, latency analysis, and systems-level optimization.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern container orchestration practices.Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI/CD.Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Practical DevOps experience that has improved engineering velocity, reliability, or release quality. Language Requirements Chinese: Native proficiency or TOCFL Level C1 or above is required.English: Professional working proficiency is required for technical discussions, documentation, meetings, and daily collaboration with international teams.TOEFL, IELTS, or other recognized English proficiency certification is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both Taiwan-based and overseas colleagues.
