Senior Mechanical Engineer, Building Services

Hydra Search are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the building services industry to join a growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical systems across a variety of projects, contributing to both concept and detailed design phases. Key Responsibilities Design and specification of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, etc.)Preparation of detailed design calculations, drawings, and technical reportsSupport project delivery from concept through to construction and handoverCoordinate with internal teams (electrical, sustainability) and external consultants (architects, structural engineers, contractors)Attend site meetings and inspections as requiredEnsure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulationsParticipate in project reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshopsMentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a building services consultancy or related environmentSolid understanding of mechanical systems in the built environmentExperience using relevant design and calculation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, etc.)Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams If you're interested in learning more, please apply via the job ad with your updated CV and contact details *Only Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be considered* Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly
