Senior Backend Developer – Insurance Platform

We are developing a new insurance platform in Yandex Armenia. Our team previously worked on Yandex Go and Yandex Delivery and is now building a scalable microservice backend integrated with multiple services in the Yandex ecosystem. Today we sell more than 10,000 policies per day, operate under high load, and continue to expand integrations and product functionality. The platform is built using C, userver, PostgreSQL, YT, and Testsuite. We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer for Yandex Care to help develop platform components, launch integrations, and scale the infrastructure of the insurance platform. You will be responsible for Launching integrations with partner websites and applications, as well as internal platforms, including working with APIs, data models, and product flows Participating in large-scale integration projects, including designing architecture, developing or extending platform components, and ensuring reliable launches Designing and developing reusable platform components such as pricing, scoring, billing, and modules for managing insurance products and contracts Implementing new platform components, including defining architecture and integrating them into the insurance platform lifecycle Solving infrastructure challenges related to high-load systems, including scaling to tens of thousands of RPS, optimizing data storage, and improving system performance Developing solutions for working with large datasets, including efficient search, data separation, and automated testing approaches Hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, and contributing to building a strong engineering team You might be a fit if you have Strong C++ skills with an understanding that a programming language is a tool Solid coding skills Knowledge of algorithms and data structures Interest in solving complex engineering problems and growing professionally It’d be a plus if you: Have designed distributed systems operating under high load Have experience with Python Have worked with databases such as PostgreSQL Are familiar with Linux Have experience with userver or Testsuite Are ready to expand your scope of responsibility Explore our benefits Life in balance with Yango We know how to work hard, but we also know how to have fun together, and we are true believers that the wellbeing of our teams is importantPsychological support Available in different languages to support you when you need it mostLife and private health cover Life and private health insurance *different conditions apply based on hiring location and position type
