Role description: Our Structural Team is seeking an Senior Structural Engineer to join the growing team in Toronto West office . The successful individual will develop and manage projects including structural design and construction support for the construction of new or modification to existing transportation, data center, water & wastewater, commercial, industrial, power, and institutional buildings & structures, ensuring conformance with building codes and project requirements. The scope of projects managed by our department ranges from minor renovations to major projects. The Structural Engineer will be collaborating with peer engineers and BIM modelers in other Arcadis’s offices around the globe. This job will involve coordination with other disciplines in house and offices around the world. Role accountabilities: Most of the Things You’ll Work on: Conduct the structural analysis & design of structures and prepare drawings and specificationsCarry out seismic analysis, seismic design, and seismic performance assessment Coordination with other design disciplines (Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, etc…)Attend meetings and prepare presentations when requiredPrepare bid documentation for project pursuits Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes Reviewing & responding to submittals (RFI’s, Shop Drawings, etc…) during CA phase of projectsProvide direction to, and work with, Engineering & CAD staffProvide peer reviews of other engineer’s workPerform QA/QC activities Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an assetMinimum 5 years relevant experience in structural design and construction supportRegistered P. Eng in OntarioRegistration in other provinces is an assetKnowledge and understanding of Canadian design standards and codesKnowledge of US codes and standards is an assetProficiency and understanding of structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, Robot, SAP2000 is expectedExperience with Microsoft Office and software such as Bluebeam is expectedKnowledge of 3D BIM is an asset such as REVIT & NavisworksYou will work in a multi-disciplined team environment and will be expected to demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the teamAbility to confidently relate with all levels of staff and clientele - Internal and ExternalExcellent work ethic and desire to succeedEffective communication in the English language (verbal and written)Driver’s License Why Arcadis? The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
