Description
We are seeking a specialised Front-End Engineer with expertise in React, real-time distributed state, with high-performance graphics rendering.
The role requires deep experience
optimising HTML5 Canvas performance for high-volume, concurrent vector and raster
graphics.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience with a major Canvas library (such as
Konva.js, Fabric.js, Paper.js, or PIXI.js) to manage complex, interactive drawing states in a
collaborative environment.
Key Technical Expertise
• Developing complex, performant, and interactive graphics using React
• Deep understanding of the HTML5 Canvas API and optimisation techniques, i.e.
minimising redraws, buffering
• Experience with a Canvas Graphics Library (e.g., Konva.js, Fabric.js, Paper.js, or
PIXI.js) for state management and object manipulation
• Seamlessly handling both Vector and Raster graphics including shapes, paths, and imported
images
• Expertise using WebSocket APIs for low-latency, real-time communication
• Proven ability to implement distributed state synchronisation for concurrent multi-user
• Designing efficient protocols for sending small, frequent drawing actions
Core Engineering
• Strong proficiency in modern TypeScript/JavaScript for building scalable applications
• Experience designing the overall data model and application flow for a complex,
stateful, single-page application
• Focus on application performance and responsiveness beyond typical web page
metrics.
