Role: Full Stack Engineer (Backend) Location: Melbourne, AU (must be AU-based) Experience: 5+ Employment Type: Contract: 12 months Our client is partnering with a global infrastructure technology company to source a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a small, distributed AU/US product team. This is a chance to work on next-generation platforms used by governments worldwide — solving technically interesting problems with real policy impact. What You’ll Work On Road User Charging platform — next-gen tolling replacing petrol excise as EV adoption grows. Tracks trips via GPS, OBD, and mobile.Back-office financial platform — workflow + finance system with measurable revenue impact.Greenfield product investment — platform being brought back into active development. Technical Requirements: Go (Golang) — core language across all products (preferred)AWS — hands-on production experience required (certification alone not sufficient)Backend-heavy role — no front-end requirementAngular — nice to have, not a focusGitHub / Jira — standard tooling Key Requirements: 5+ years of production backend engineering experienceStrong independent coding ability (without AI assistance)Excellent communication skills — collaborative, open, and engagedComfortable working across time zones with minimal hand-holdingDiverse backgrounds and perspectives are actively valued
