Description

Senior FullStack QA Engineer with Python Location: Remote — European Region Employment Type: Full-time Team: Back Office Engineering — FinApp Team Who are we? We are an engineering organization with more than 120 engineers and over 11 years of industry experience, bringing together expertise across software engineering, infrastructure, security, and R&D. Our teams have extensive experience building sophisticated distributed systems and blockchain infrastructure operating across 20+ blockchain networks. While the engineering brand itself is evolving, the expertise behind it has been built over more than a decade of solving complex technical problems in the blockchain and fintech space. What do we do? We build and maintain technology and infrastructure for complex financial and blockchain products. Our engineering environment involves distributed systems, multiple integrations, APIs, message queues, backend services, frontend applications, and blockchain infrastructure. For this position, you will join the FinApp Team within Back Office Engineering and work across the product quality lifecycle rather than focusing exclusively on either manual or automated testing. Why do we do it? Our mission is to advance blockchain infrastructure engineering and contribute practical engineering expertise back to the industry. Quality is an essential part of achieving that mission. As systems become increasingly distributed and interconnected, quality engineering cannot simply mean finding bugs before a release. It requires understanding how the entire system behaves, identifying risks early, building reliable automation, and continuously improving the processes that determine product quality. How do we do it? We approach QA as an engineering discipline. Testing begins with requirements analysis and continues throughout development, deployment, release, and application monitoring. Our QA Engineers combine manual and automated testing, with a particularly strong focus on backend and API quality. The core automation stack for this position is: Python + Playwright + PyTest You will also work with REST APIs, message queues, SQL, monitoring tools, CI/CD systems, and testing infrastructure. QA engineers are active members of Scrum teams and contribute not only by executing tests, but also by influencing quality processes, automation architecture, test strategy, tooling, and delivery practices. Who works for us? You will become part of an engineering organization of 120+ specialists working across software development, infrastructure, security, QA, and R&D. You will work closely with developers, other QA Engineers, and members of your Scrum team. The environment values independence and ownership. Engineers are expected to think critically, contribute ideas, collaborate with their colleagues, and actively influence how products and engineering processes evolve. Knowledge sharing across teams is encouraged, and employees have access to professional development and language-learning support. Why is there a vacancy? The engineering organization continues to develop complex products and infrastructure across a highly integrated technical environment. The team is looking for an experienced QA Engineer who can contribute across the complete quality lifecycle — from requirements analysis and manual testing to Python automation, release activities, quality architecture, and continuous improvement. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a Senior FullStack QA Engineer who is equally comfortable investigating a system manually and building automation around it. You should understand quality beyond individual test cases and be able to evaluate how requirements, architecture, integrations, automation, monitoring, and delivery processes affect the reliability of the overall product. This role is particularly suitable for someone who enjoys backend and API testing, understands complex integrations, and wants to remain hands-on with Python-based automation. We value engineers who can work independently, communicate clearly, take ownership, and proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality. What professional skills are important to us? Must-have 5+ years of QA experience, including both manual and automation testing.Strong hands-on experience with Python-based test automation.Experience with PyTest, Behave, or similar Python testing frameworks.Experience with functional and non-functional testing.Strong backend and REST API testing experience.Experience testing message queues.Experience with integration, UI, acceptance, exploratory, and grey-box testing.Strong understanding of QA approaches, testing principles, test types, test coverage distribution, the test pyramid, and quality practices.Excellent test documentation skills.Good understanding of the complete SDLC, from requirements analysis through development and deployment to application monitoring.Experience with CI/CD systems.Good SQL skills.Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as ELK and Sentry.Strong understanding of Scrum and/or other Agile frameworks.Independence and proactivity.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to learn quickly.Good spoken and written English and Russian.Nice to have Load, stress, or performance testing experience.Kubernetes experience.Previous experience in Fintech, Blockchain, or another complex domain with heavy business logic and integrations. What will you do in the project? You will: Participate actively in the Scrum team.Analyze requirements before testing begins.Perform both manual and automated testing.Participate in product releases.Create and maintain test documentation, including checklists, test cases, and quality reports.Automate test cases using the existing framework.Perform functional and exploratory testing.Test frontend functionality as well as backend services and APIs, with a particularly strong focus on backend/API testing.Test message queues and system integrations.Execute different types and levels of testing depending on product needs.Maintain and extend the automation testing framework.Contribute to the development of testing tools, including Mocks.Participate in quality-process architecture.Contribute to estimations and test-case design.Help improve CI/CD processes.Coordinate testing activities with developers and other QA Engineers.Evaluate overall product quality.Proactively influence and improve QA processes. The position therefore goes beyond test execution: you will have the opportunity to influence how quality engineering is designed and practiced within the team.
