Join David Jones as a Senior Developer, Merchandise & Supply Chain and play a pivotal role in designing and enhancing the Oracle solutions that support our merchandise and supply chain operations.
Working within our Technology team, you will combine deep Oracle development expertise with strong commercial and operational understanding to deliver resilient, scalable and high-performing database solutions.

What will your day look like?
Reporting to the Platform Manager, Merchandise & Supply Chain, you will:
Design and implement Oracle database solutions, including data models, schemas and database objectsContribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development through to testing and deploymentDevelop and maintain PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers and packagesImprove database performance through SQL tuning, indexing and data-structure optimisationIntegrate Oracle databases with other systems and applications, ensuring data integrity and reliable information flowDiagnose and resolve complex database issues, performance constraints and data inconsistenciesProvide technical guidance and mentoring to developers and broader team membersConduct code, architecture and design reviews to promote strong technical standards and development practicesLead and contribute to technology projects, working closely with delivery leads, managers and business stakeholdersMaintain clear technical documentation covering database designs, processes and proceduresIdentify opportunities to improve database technologies, development practices and delivery processes.
