The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-achieving developer ready to take broader ownership and build upon the company’s technology development function.
This is an individual-contributor role that will combine full-stack engineering, product thinking, and user experience design to shape technical priorities, architecture, and product decisions.
The role works closely with the executive team and may manage junior developers or contractors as the function grows.
Key Responsibilities
The right person enjoys both building software and understanding the people who use it.
They can move comfortably from user discovery and interface design to database work, integrations, implementation, and troubleshooting
Product Engineering & User Experience
· Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain responsive web applications, workflows, and internal tools.
· Translate business needs and user feedback into intuitive, accessible workflows, prototypes, and production solutions.
· Improve application reliability, performance, scalability, testing, documentation, and deployment practices.
Data, Systems & Technology
· Maintain and improve databases containing student and program information.
· Build and maintain integrations with other platforms using APIs, webhooks, authentication, file transfers, and data feeds.
· Protect sensitive student and family information through appropriate privacy, security, and FERPA-related practices.
· Advise the executive team on product priorities, technical tradeoffs, and system risks; maintain a technology roadmap.
Qualifications
Required
· 4+ years of relevant full-stack development, product engineering, or comparable experience.
· Demonstrated ability to design, build, launch, and maintain production web applications.
· Strong experience with front-end development, back-end development, relational databases, and third-party APIs
· Ability to translate user and business needs into effective UX solutions and move complex projects through launch.
Desired Technical Proficiency
Experience across the following stack, and TypeScript proficiency is strongly preferred.
