Senior Software Developer, Systems Software Columbia, MD Job Description X8 is seeking a Senior Software Developer, Systems Software to support mission-critical data science, machine learning, and analytic capabilities in a highly technical Intelligence Community environment. The ideal candidate combines systems-software engineering with hands-on AI/ML, production model implementation, data integration, anomaly detection, and statistical evaluation experience in defensive cyber environments. What You'll Be Doing Apply statistics, machine learning, and analytic methods to answer intelligence questions and produce reusable analytic products.Transform data features, identify patterns/trends, optimize classifiers, build anomaly-detection capabilities, and automate analytic processes.Evaluate statistical models; implement validated models in production with software developers; periodically re-evaluate and refine models.Extract, transform, integrate, and load data from traditional and non-traditional sources into accessible data stores.Collaborate with Data Scientists and analysts to monitor model performance/data accuracy, interpret results, and refine analyses.Document processes, models, data configuration management, and research emerging data science tradecraft and technology. What Required Skills You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience; an advanced degree may be considered in lieu of years of experience. Master's degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of experience.3+ years of Defensive Cyber Operations experience and 3+ years applying machine learning techniques and statistical model evaluation.Experience researching, designing, developing, or testing systems-level software and translating operational needs into software requirements.Ability to apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles to complex technical problems.
