Job Summary
Lead Blue Tees software product management end-to-end.
This role owns the software product strategy, roadmap, and execution across the Blue Tees app, membership experience, connected-device workflows, AI-enabled features, data products, and future software platforms.
The role reports to the CEO and will oversee software product managers as the organization scales.
The ideal candidate combines product vision, technical fluency, strong customer intuition, and operating discipline.
This person can translate company strategy into a clear software roadmap, partner deeply with engineering and design, build the product management system for software, and ship products that improve engagement, retention, paid member growth, and the overall Blue Tees ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is a “Player Coach”: equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build and leading the team from the front.
This role is both a builder and a leader:
Own the roadmap: turn company strategy into a focused software product roadmap with clear priorities, metrics, and tradeoffs.Build the product system: establish strong discovery, requirements, analytics, prioritization, and launch-readiness processes for software.Lead the team: hire, coach, and develop software product managers & product owners who can operate with clarity, accountability, and speed.
Key Responsibilities
Software Product Strategy and Roadmap
Own the multi-year software product roadmap across the Blue Tees app, membership , AI experiences, account and identity, commerce and activation, connected-device integrations, and data-driven product experiences.Define software product strategy that supports paid member growth, retention, engagement, customer satisfaction, hardware attach, and long-term ecosystem value.Translate company priorities into product themes, quarterly roadmaps, product requirements, launch plans, and measurable outcomes.Prioritize product investments based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, data quality, complexity, and strategic importance.
Product Discovery Requirements and Delivery
Lead product discovery using customer research, app analytics, customer support insights, reviews, competitive analysis, market trends, and direct golfer feedback.Own and coach the creation of strong PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements, launch criteria, and post-launch measurement plans.Partner with engineering, design, QA, data, commercial, customer success, and hardware product teams to move software initiatives from concept through launch and iteration.Hold a required sign-off on release go/no-go.Drive experimentation, instrumentation, and feedback loops that improve activation, engagement, conversion, retention, and product quality over time.
Technical Platform and Data Leadership
Bring enough technical depth to work credibly with engineering leadership on mobile architecture, APIs, data models, integrations, user identity, entitlements, payments, analytics, AI workflows, and release quality.Partner with the CTO and engineering leaders to sequence foundational platform work alongside customer-facing product initiatives.Help define product requirements for reliable user data, membership data, device data, event tracking, and reporting that support better decisions across the business.Ensure software products are built with strong standards for usability, reliability, privacy, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Team Leadership
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing software product management organization.Manage and coach software product managers while establishing clear goals, accountability, decision rights, and career development paths.Create a product culture grounded in customer obsession, technical partnership, data-informed decision-making, business impact, and fast execution.Establish operating rhythms for roadmap reviews, prioritization, discovery, product reviews, launch readiness, and post-launch performance analysis.
Cross Functional Leadership
Align executive leadership, technology, hardware product, commercial, marketing, customer success, operations, finance, and external partners around software priorities and roadmap execution.Serve as the single intake point for software requests from other teams and decide where each fits on the roadmap.Present product strategy, business cases, roadmap updates, tradeoff decisions, performance insights, and launch readiness to the CEO and executive team.Partner with commercial and marketing teams to define positioning, onboarding, lifecycle messaging, education, and go-to-market requirements for software launches.Use customer support insights, app store reviews, NPS, product analytics, and business performance to continuously improve the software roadmap.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required
8+ years of Product Management experience in software, mobile apps, SaaS, consumer technology, connected products, or platform products, including 3+ years leading Product Management teams.Proven track record building and launching customer-facing software products that drove measurable engagement, retention, conversion, revenue, or customer satisfaction improvements.Strong technical fluency across mobile product development, APIs, data and analytics, user identity, payments or entitlements, release management, quality assurance, and scalable platform development.Experience partnering deeply with engineering, design, QA, data, and executive leadership to turn strategy into shipped product.Strong product judgment with the ability to balance customer needs, business impact, technical feasibility, time-to-market, and long-term platform health.Experience building product roadmaps, PRDs, product metrics, discovery processes, prioritization frameworks, and operating rhythms for software teams.Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and lead high-performing product managers.Strong executive presence with outstanding communication, prioritization, decision-making, analytical, and commercial skills in fast-moving environments.
Preferred
Experience with companion apps for connected hardware, IoT products, wearables, GPS products, launch monitors, or other consumer electronic ecosystems.Experience with membership, freemium, paid conversion, lifecycle, or recurring-revenue software businesses.Experience building AI, coaching, personalization, training, gaming, community, or performance-improvement products.Experience leading product organizations through rapid growth, software rebuilds, technical transformation, or operating-model change.Experience building products under GDPR, CCPA, or similar privacy regulations, including consent, data retention, and user data requests.Familiarity with golf, sports technology, fitness technology, consumer electronics, or adjacent consumer technology markets.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, Business, Product Design, or a related field required, or equivalent practical experience.Master's degree preferred.Experience in software, mobile apps, SaaS, connected products, consumer technology, or platform product management strongly preferred.
