Description POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is, but is not limited to, supporting software development by managing tools and processes for efficient code deployment, ensuring smooth collaboration between development and operations teams. This person is responsible for automating systems, maintaining infrastructure, and optimizing software development practices. Position Duties/Responsibilities I. Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native, distributed, serverless architecture. II. Implement automation, observability, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code. III. Manage efficient and reliable CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments to help minimize developer friction IV. Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments. V. Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management, in conjunction with the SecOps team. VI. Improve system reliability through automation, monitoring, and operational best practices. VII. Sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing throughout the engineering team. VIII. Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team. IX. Have on call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team. X. Operate within our client's guidelines pursuant to the Employee Handbook and all Policies and Procedures XI. Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisor and/or Management Positional Competencies (3-5) I. Strong programming skills (Node, Typescript). II. Proficient in automation tools (GitHub Actions, Serverless, etc.). III. Knowledge of AWS monitoring and logging tools such as Amazon Cloudwatch, AWS CloudTrail. IV. Exceptional attention to detail with a preference for highly structured procedures V. Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale. VI. A drive towards automating repetitive tasks. VII. Expertise with AWS such as IAM, VPC, ECS. VIII. Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodeBuild). IX. Operational experience with NoSQL databases such as Amazon DynamoDB. X. Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Serverless Framework, AWS Cloudformation). XI. Effective communication skills.
