Software Engineer – C++ Medical Applications

An established healthcare technology business is looking for an experienced software developer to join the team. The role focuses on designing and developing high-end components for medical desktop applications, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, modernizing legacy systems and integrating advanced engineering tools to improve healthcare software. What you'll be doing • Design and develop high-end C++ components for medical desktop applications with a focus on performance. • Architect and implement complex multithreading and parallelization concepts for clinical environments. • Analyze, refactor, and optimize a large codebase using Qt, CMake, Conan, and MSVC. • Drive the modernization of legacy frameworks toward modern C++ and current .NET standards. • Utilize and improve AI-assisted workflows and agents to accelerate refactoring and code analysis. What we're looking for • Extensive professional experience in C++ development for high-performance, parallelized systems. • Deep expertise in modern C++ (14/17/20), multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning. • Proficiency with Qt, CMake, Conan, MSVC, and integrating components such as CEF. • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, for collaboration with various stakeholders. • A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
