It takes the outputs of NOUS, our probabilistic models of where minerals are likely to be, and turns them into maps and 3D scenes that exploration teams use to decide where to look next. We're looking for a founding frontend engineer to own it. You'll work day to day with our Head of Geoscience and Head of Exploration, turning their expertise into experiences that make complex geology obvious at a glance. Carta already works, so you won't be starting from scratch. What You'll Build Engaging, interactive map experiences for exploring geologic data3D visualizations that bring to life what the subsurface could look like, based on the outputs of our probabilistic modelsVisual language for geoscience: working with our Head of Geoscience to decide how prospectivity, confidence and geology should look, so the data reads correctly to experts and non-experts alikePerformance at scale: smooth 3D interaction and fast tile loading across millions of features and global datasets What We're Looking For Must have: Strong frontend engineering skills; React and TypeScript ideal3D rendering experience on the web: Three.js, WebGL, Cesium or similarA strong visual and UX sense: you care how things look, move and feelEnjoy working closely with domain experts and turning their thinking into productAble to own a feature end to end without hand-holding Nice to have: GIS or mapping experience.
