Java Software Engineer We’re working with a leading technology business within the iGaming, sports betting and lottery space, looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join their Sports engineering team. This is a great opportunity for a strong hands-on Java developer who enjoys mentoring others, taking technical ownership and helping drive engineering standards, without necessarily wanting to step away from the code. What you’ll be doing: Developing and delivering high-quality backend softwareWorking closely with Product and Engineering teams across the SDLCMentoring and supporting other engineersChampioning engineering best practices and continuous improvementTaking ownership of technical delivery and helping remove blockersContributing to a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture What we’re looking for: Strong commercial experience with Java & Spring BootExperience with technologies such as AWS, Kafka, Docker and KubernetesSolid backend/software engineering fundamentalsExperience mentoring, coaching or supporting less experienced developersSomeone who remains hands-on and technically strongExcellent communication and collaboration skillsYou don’t need to have held a formal Lead title — Senior Developers who have naturally taken on mentoring, technical ownership or informal leadership responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
