Date: 10/2/2026 Job Title: Application Developer 2 Work Location: Birmingham AL 35203 Requirements This position is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and requires the ability to work remotely and onsite, as needed, to support business operations, project collaboration, and stakeholder engagement. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support the development, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of critical Asset Management and Power Delivery applications within the Power Delivery Technology organization. This role will contribute to the continued development of the Asset Information Management System (AIMS), enterprise Fulcrum application support, API integrations with internal and external systems, and other Power Delivery application development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong database development, object-oriented programming, API integration, and software troubleshooting experience. Exposure to full-stack web development, OutSystems or a comparable application development platform, Agile delivery practices, GIS platforms, and mobile inspection applications is preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Experience Minimum of three years of professional programming or software development experience. Skills And Abilities Experience with database development, including SQL, data modeling, schema design, or comparable database development activities. Experience with C#, Python, or a comparable object-oriented programming language.Hands-on experience designing, developing, consuming, or supporting REST and/or SOAP API integrations.Understanding of software development methodologies and the software development life cycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Experience developing or supporting enterprise business applications in a production environment.Strong analytical, programmatic problem-solving, and software troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and technology professionals. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to full-stack web application development, including front-end, back-end, and database components.Experience with OutSystems or a comparable low-code or application development platform.Experience working as part of an Agile software development team.Experience supporting utility, asset management, or Power Delivery applications.Experience with Fulcrum or another mobile inspection or data collection platform.GIS experience, including familiarity with Esri or ArcGIS platforms and spatial data integrations.Familiarity with cloud platforms, enterprise authentication methods such as SAML and OAuth, and modern integration patterns.Experience with version control, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, enhance, and maintain scalable web, mobile, and enterprise applications using appropriate programming languages and application development platforms.Support ongoing development, feature enhancement, and lifecycle maintenance of the Asset Information Management System (AIMS).Support and maintain the enterprise Fulcrum application used for inspections and field data collection workflows.Develop and support databases, including Oracle database schema design, SQL development, data mapping, data modeling, and integration planning in collaboration with the Technology organization.Develop and maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing API integrations connecting AIMS, Fulcrum, GIS platforms, and other internal and external systems.Partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, and the Technology organization to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.Apply programmatic problem-solving techniques to design solutions, automate processes, and resolve technical challenges.Troubleshoot application and integration issues, manage defects, and provide ongoing production support for Power Delivery technology solutions.Participate in application architecture planning, technical design discussions, code reviews, and software development lifecycle activities.Follow applicable corporate security, performance, scalability, and development best practices.Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, databases, API integrations, configurations, and support processes. Work Environment Hybrid work schedule with a combination of remote work and onsite collaboration in Birmingham, Alabama.
