Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking for Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulics) to their growing team. In this role you will lead engineering design as part of the product development process by focusing on systems level and concept design. Translating product definition into high quality, reliable and cost-effective system level designs ready for detail design execution. Responsibilities: Work within a team of Engineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products. This includes all steps within a formal product development processDevelop Fluidpower concept and system level design with limited guidance, frequently in the absence of specific design standardsParticipate in the formulation and/or evaluation of business casesProduct architectDevelops comprehensive design documentation and validation plansContribute to and verify engineering documentationApply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machinesSizing and selection of hydraulic and pneumatic components as well as material selection and application of design standardsProvide leadership, mentoring and training to team membersLead and contribute to design reviews and brainstorming sessions as well as responsible for decision making in the context of product definition and architectureParticipate in or lead continuous improvement activitiesVerify all concept and systems level process steps of the product development process and Product Release process are followedDrives the product development process by leveraging team collaboration to deliver successful outcomesDesign risk mitigation including participation or facilitation of FMEACross discipline interaction and communication including cross discipline inputs – Analysis, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Validation/TestRepresent company technically in front of customers, suppliers and technical partnersRepresent the Innovation and Sustainability department in front of internal customers including the executive teamQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering10+ years of design experience in a related industrySpecialized knowledge of product, market and customer requirementsExpertise in hydraulic standards, specifications, and compliance requirementsSkilled in fluid mechanics simulation and data analysis.Expert in calculating design parameters and applying engineering principles to design.Strong understanding and experience in hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water systems and the related industriesStrong time management and organizational skills for maximum efficiency.Illustrates attention to detail when completing tasks.Advanced communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)Strong problem-solving skillsStrong creativity and innovation skillsStrong sense of ownershipAdvance understanding of manufacturing and assembly processesA flexible team player.Demonstrated ability to lead and work both autonomously, and as part of a highly cohesive teamExperience selecting and sizing various components.
