Web Developer / Web Accessibility Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Web Developer / Web Accessibility Specialist to support a public-sector Digital Services team.
This role will focus on auditing, remediating, developing, and maintaining web content and digital assets to ensure compliance with ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SharePoint, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web accessibility, and digital document remediation.
Key Responsibilities
Web Accessibility & ADA Compliance
Perform manual and automated accessibility audits of public websites, portals, and web applications.Use accessibility testing tools such as Siteimprove and accessiBe.Identify and remediate accessibility issues within HTML, CSS, JavaScript, interactive tools, and web structures.Ensure digital assets—including PDFs, videos, forms, graphics, presentations, images, and GIS maps—meet accessibility requirements.Perform accessibility testing on new and existing web content.Collaborate with content creators, communications teams, IT teams, and third-party vendors to implement accessibility best practices.SharePoint Development & Content Management
Manage, maintain, and update web pages and custom components within Microsoft SharePoint environments.Create and modify SharePoint templates, web parts, page layouts, and CSS/JavaScript integrations.Ensure both standard and customized SharePoint features meet accessibility requirements.Implement appropriate ARIA roles, landmarks, and semantic HTML structures.Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related web accessibility issues.Web Development
Develop and modify responsive web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.Review existing web content and code for accessibility and usability.Support front-end development and digital content improvements.Ensure web applications and interactive components provide an accessible user experience.Document Accessibility
Remediate PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.Create and maintain accessible documents using Microsoft Office applications.Ensure electronic documents meet WCAG and Section 508 requirements.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Web Development, Digital Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.2+ years of professional experience as a Webmaster, Front-End Developer, Web Accessibility Specialist, or similar role.Technical Skills
