About The Role As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Canada, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the development of innovative technology solutions aligned with our strategic objectives. Your primary focus will be designing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that meet the evolving needs of our business and customers. You will evaluate emerging technologies, develop robust software solutions, and collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to promote best practices in architecture and design. Working closely with business partners, you will help refine problem statements and identify the capabilities necessary to deliver impactful solutions. Your contributions will shape the future of our technology landscape, ensuring that all solutions adhere to our architectural and security standards while fostering innovation and agility. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience creating solutions architectures within a public cloud environment such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. A bachelor's, master's, or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of designing, architecting, and delivering scalable, decoupled systems in highly regulated environments, with at least 10 years of overall software engineering experience. Experience working with internal and external business clients for over 3 years, along with AWS certifications such as Cloud Practitioner or Solution Architect-Associate, will be considered advantageous. Excellent communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and experience mentoring engineering teams are also essential.
