About the Opportunity: The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER II role in Global Commercial Services Technology focuses on frontend development and user-centric product engineering. This position is instrumental in developing a next-generation expense management platform tailored for Small and Medium-sized businesses and corporate clients. The role contributes significantly to delivering scalable, intuitive, and high-performance digital experiences. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs using Golang in AWS environmentsBuild microservices using domain-driven design and modern architectural patterns such as hexagonal architectureCollaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define service contracts and platform capabilitiesMentor engineers and promote collaboration across distributed engineering teamsEvaluate and integrate SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirementsParticipate in architecture reviews, RFCs, and proof-of-concept initiativesDevelop highly scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systemsDesign and implement event-driven architectures and streaming solutions using Kafka and related messaging technologiesIntegrate with workflow orchestration and durable execution frameworks such as Camunda and TemporalDesign and manage data systems across relational, graph, document, search, and OLAP databasesBuild and operate cloud-native systems using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, SQS, API Gateway, RDS, and S3Implement observability through logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing using tools like DatadogEstablish backend engineering standards, best practices, and system design conventionsPlan, estimate, and deliver engineering work while proactively mitigating risks and resolving blockersCommunicate progress and system capabilities to stakeholders and leadership Requirements: 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend systemsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fieldStrong hands-on experience with Golang backend service developmentExperience designing and deploying systems in AWS cloud environmentsExperience building and operating distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architecturesFamiliarity with domain-driven design and modern architectural patternsExperience with various data storage technologies including relational and NoSQL databasesExperience with distributed Postgres-compatible databases such as CockroachDBExperience integrating workflow orchestration platforms such as Camunda or TemporalExperience implementing observability, monitoring, and performance optimization tools such as DatadogAbility to collaborate across cross-functional teams and mentor engineersStrong communication and problem-solving skillsExperience integrating AI/ML models into backend systems is a plusEntrepreneurial mindset with passion for building scalable systemsEligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship Pay Range and Compensation Package: The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
