Description

For our client, we are seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx) to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will shape the technical direction of the internal developer platform and improve how engineering teams build, ship, and operate software at scale. You will partner closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to reduce friction across the software development lifecycle while strengthening reliability, speed, and security. The position also requires technical leadership through incident reviews, architecture guidance, and mentorship that elevates standards across the organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $145,000 – $175,000 annually Responsibilities Set and drive the technical roadmap for the internal developer platform Author and review RFCs and design docs for cross-team adoption, and serve as an architecture reviewer for infrastructure changes Lead retrospectives on high-severity production incidents and implement structural fixes Mentor senior and staff engineers to elevate technical standards across the organization Own and evolve the internal developer platform as a product, focusing on adoption and efficiency Partner with engineering leadership to automate and resolve systemic friction in the SDLC Own the architecture of CI/CD orchestration to support high release velocity and security Qualifications 10+ years of engineering experience with hands-on software development experience in Go, Python, or Java 7+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale Proven technical leadership across multiple teams, driving architecture decisions and platform strategy Extensive experience with multi-account, multi-cluster Kubernetes platforms in production, including EKS and/or GKE Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Crossplane, and GitOps practices Experience designing CI/CD systems for high release velocity and security, with GitLab CI/CD preferred Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana, with a focus on cost management Benefits Flexible work environment with remote options Opportunities for professional development and mentorship Access to cutting-edge technology and tools Collaborative and innovative team culture Health and wellness programs Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
