It manages a distributed development team across multiple countries, emphasizing robust business system architecture, integration, and administration to support operational efficiency and growth.
About the Opportunity:
The BUSINESS SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MANAGER leads a team of approximately eight developers distributed across the U.S., Canada, and Asia.
This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, overseeing Salesforce development, MuleSoft integration, and database administration.
The position is critical in setting technical standards, growing team capabilities in integration and data platforms, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver effective business system solutions.
Responsibilities:
Act as a hands-on technical contributor and player-coach for Salesforce, MuleSoft integrations, and database administration.Establish technical direction and best practices for Salesforce, NetSuite, MuleSoft, data platforms, and database administration.Develop the team’s roadmap for expanding skills in ETL, data platforms, and database administration, including training and hiring.Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team, handling hiring, performance management, career development, and workload prioritization.Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.Oversee database administration tasks such as performance tuning, security, backup, and data governance.Identify and implement automation and process improvements in business systems.
Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Flow, and SOQL/SOSL.Practical database administration skills covering schema design, performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery; experience with Databricks or similar data platforms is preferred.Experience with modern code generation tools (e.g., Cursor, Github CoPilot, VsCode).Minimum of three years managing or mentoring developers in a player-coach role.Ability to balance personal development tasks with leadership responsibilities.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
$110,000 - $150,000 a year
