Company Description EventReels is building the infrastructure that helps college communities discover and experience events without missing out. The platform provides a single link for everything an organization needs to run an event, including invites, RSVPs, QR check-in, live guest lists, ticketing, photo and video galleries, AI-generated banners, and AI highlight reels. EventReels is already in use at universities across the United States by campus organizations, Greek life, cultural clubs, and student governments. The company focuses on making events easier to organize and more visible to students who care about community. EventReels is expanding quickly and seeks team members who want their work to have a direct impact on campus life. Role Description The User Interface Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and iterating on intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces for the EventReels web and mobile experiences. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with product and design teams to translate user needs into clean, maintainable front-end code; building reusable UI components and design systems; and optimizing performance and usability across devices and browsers. The engineer will participate in code reviews, contribute to UX improvements based on user feedback and analytics, and help ensure visual consistency as the product scales. The role also involves working closely with other engineers to integrate front-end interfaces with backend services and to ship features quickly and reliably. Qualifications Strong front-end engineering skills, including proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar), HTML, and CSS.Experience designing and implementing responsive, accessible user interfaces and working with design tools or systems (e.g., Figma, component libraries, design tokens).Background in building and maintaining reusable UI components, managing state effectively, and optimizing performance for web and mobile experiences.Comfort collaborating with product, design, and backend engineering teams, with clear communication and a user-centered approach to problem-solving.Understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and basic knowledge of API integration and version control (e.g., Git).Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area and to engage with campus communities and student users to inform product decisions.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience building consumer-facing products or campus-focused tools, and interest in community-building and event experiences, is beneficial.
