Design, implement, and field-validate robust state estimation for UxS platforms.Architect the onboard autonomy stack, including localization, degraded-mode behaviors, and failsafesLead sensor fusion across IMU, vision, LiDAR/radar, barometric, and opportunistic sources.Take prototypes from simulation through HIL to flight test and act as technical lead in test campaigns.Support with mentoring less experienced team members and review theses and code in the navigation area.Serve as a steady, reliable technical anchor for the team — someone others can count on to help navigate ambiguous or difficult technical challenges to a solid resolution Your profile Masters degree in robotics or aerospace softwareMinimum of 5 years experience in robotics, aerospace software; field-deployed navigation experience; Deep state-estimation expertise including EKF/UKF, factor graphs, VIO/SLAM; Advanced proficiency in Python, C++ are a must, experience with Rust is highly appreciatedHands on experience with ROS 2 and internals of PX4 or ArduPilotReal hardware and flight-test experience.You are strong team playerYou have first experience in technical leadershipYou are used to work in high pace project modeExcellent communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
