This role offers the opportunity to build and enhance the cyber-security platforms that protect BMO’s data, applications, and credentials. The individual will gain hands-on experience with automation, cloud technologies, identity and access management, secrets management, encryption, and platform integrations while working on solutions used across the bank. The position provides strong growth opportunities through exposure to multiple security technologies, cross-functional teams, and enterprise-scale initiatives. This is a HYBRID role*** Please note that occasional overnight and weekend work may be required to support production deployments and other business-critical activities. Any approved work performed outside of regular business hours, including overnight or weekend work beyond the standard work schedule, will be compensated through time off in lieu, in accordance with company guidelines and manager approval. KEY Responsibilites: Translate business, security, and technical requirements into configurations, integrations, scripts, and working technical solutions.Build scripts, API integrations, reusable components, and CI/CD automation that reduce manual effort and improve delivery consistency.Perform functional and integration testing, investigate defects, troubleshoot platform and connectivity issues, and implement sustainable fixes. Ensure code and configurations meet BMO requirements for security, logging, error handling, performance, version control, release management, and operational readiness.Produce technical designs, deployment instructions, support runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials, while working with internal teams and vendors through implementation.Exposure to Power BI, data analytics, and enterprise reporting solutions, including support for data ingestion, validation, audit reporting, and dashboard development CORE SKILLS and Experience: 2-4 years with programming and scripting using Python or PowerShell 2 -4 years with developing and troubleshooting automation with Python, or PowerShell, (Nice-to-have experience with Bash, Java, or an equivalent language)2-4 years with API and systems integration - Build or support REST/API-based integrations, authentication flows, data exchange, error handling, and integration troubleshooting2-4 years Linux or Windows systems engineering - Work with operating systems, services, files, permissions, processes, logs, certificates, and system-level troubleshooting2-4 years with CI/CD, version control, and automated deployment2-4 years with creating technical documentation and testingExposure to Power BI including data analytics , and building reports in Power BI Drives the overall software development lifecycle including working across functional teams to transform requirements into features, managing development teams and processes, and conducting software testing and maintenance. Supports system design, provides advice on security requirements and debugs business systems and service applications. Applies deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming languages to develop high quality technology applications and services - including tools, standards, and relevant software platforms based on business requirements. Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding, conceptualizing, and facilitating technical requirements from user. Analyzes, develops, tests, and implements new software programs, and documentation of entire software development life cycle execution.Performs preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and fault rectification of system and core software components .Ensures that code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements. Evaluates new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk.Follows release management processes and standards, and applies version controls. Assists in interpreting and documentation of client requirements. This work is instrumental in identifying unacceptable/high risk circumstances that could lead to material impact on profitability or reputation. Provides independent assurance on the quality and effectiveness of internal control, risk management, and governance systems and processes to support senior management and the Board in protecting BMO and its reputation. Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.Provides critical input to Chief Auditor/Assistant Chief Auditor on the practical aspects of the audit and its execution.Helps to develop annual audit plan.Provides input into Corporate Audit processes identifying opportunities to simplify.Executes audits in full recognition of the risks of the group that encompass the inherent risks, control risks and internal/external environment and regulatory risks. This may encompass individual audits and broader capstone audits of Enterprise level functions/processes.Conducts advisory engagements and other engagements as required.Determines impact of changing strategies, tactics, risks and initiatives on audit, advisory and investigative services.Identifies and evaluates the impact of new and emerging technology and technology risk on the organization’s processes and control environment.Utilizes data analytics in advisory engagements to improve quality and efficiencies.Develops an awareness of business strategies, policies and standards providing meaningful insights based upon knowledge and research which will continue to improve the Enterprise management and control processes.Maintains the independence of the audit practice and its personnel.Develops insightful discussion points contributing to audit reports that provides fair and balanced assessment of governance, risk and control processes based on audit work performed. Salary: $70,000.00 - $150,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
