About the Opportunity: The SENIOR INTEGRATION/API SOFTWARE ENGINEER role is critical for designing, developing, and supporting APIs and system integrations that connect modernized financial systems with legacy enterprise applications. This position ensures seamless and secure data flow between diverse platforms, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of federal financial and operational processes. Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrationsAnalyze system interfaces, data structures, and business rules to support integrationDevelop API contracts, interface specifications, and technical documentationImplement secure, reusable integration components using appropriate technologiesEnsure integration controls such as authentication, validation, error handling, and loggingDevelop data transformation and mapping logic for cross-system information exchangeCollaborate with platform developers to define external data exchangesSupport data validation, reconciliation, and exception processingExecute automated API and integration testingTroubleshoot and resolve interface and data exchange issuesParticipate in code reviews, version control, CI/CD, and production supportWork closely with architects, developers, analysts, and security teams throughout integration Requirements: 8+ years of software development or systems integration experience with API/backend focusSkilled in designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs and enterprise integrationsProficient in Java, C#/.NET, Python, or similar backend technologiesExperience with JSON, XML, REST, HTTP/HTTPS, and API specifications like OpenAPI/SwaggerKnowledge of API authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0 and enterprise securityFamiliarity with relational databases, SQL, data mapping, transformation, and validationExperience with integration controls including logging, error handling, retries, and monitoringProficient with Git and modern software development practicesExperience with automated API/integration testing tools (e.g., Postman/Newman)Ability to troubleshoot complex multi-system data exchangesStrong analytical, communication, and collaboration skillsMust meet applicable Federal background and security investigation requirements Pay Range and Compensation Package: The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000 annually, depending on geographic work location, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, security clearance, and contract requirements.
