About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java-Entwickler (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team in Nürnberg, Germany. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the strategic overhaul of our existing policy administration system within the general insurance sector. You will be instrumental in shaping the technological direction of our application landscape, ensuring seamless integration and modernization of our core systems. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex Java-based projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and actively participate in all phases of software development, from conception to deployment. As part of an agile team, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including business units and IT operations, to deliver innovative solutions that meet our evolving business needs. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development with Java, complemented by several years of professional experience in similar roles. A genuine passion for software development and continuous learning is essential. You should be adept at quickly understanding new technologies, frameworks, and system architectures, with a proactive approach to identifying optimization opportunities. Excellent communication skills are vital for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams and for translating technical concepts into understandable language for non-technical stakeholders. A relevant educational background, such as a completed IT apprenticeship, a degree in computer science, or a comparable qualification, is required. Responsibilities You will support the strategic replacement of our existing policy management system in the general insurance domain and actively contribute to the technological realignment of our application landscape. Your responsibilities include integrating a new Java-based policy administration system, applying your expertise in system architecture, development, and technical design. As an experienced backend developer, you will independently resolve technical challenges related to software migration and integration. Your role encompasses all software development phases, including conception, coding, testing, and production deployment. You will work closely with our agile teams, engaging with business units, service providers, and IT operations to ensure smooth project execution. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence the future technological direction of the company through innovative ideas and solutions.
