Description
Position: PL/SQL / DB2 Database Developer
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite)
Experience Level: 7+ Years
Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:
• Design, construct, and optimize complex data retrieval queries, stored procedures, functions, and database packages in DB2 UDB / PL/SQL environments.
• Write, maintain, and debug production-grade Linux/Unix shell scripts alongside Python or Perl scripts for data processing and pipeline automation.
• Manage automated batch job orchestration, monitoring, and dependency management using Autosys or similar job scheduling tools.
• Interpret business requirements and produce comprehensive technical design documents, data models, and flow diagrams.
• Perform database performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and query optimization for high-volume enterprise applications.
• Support system integration testing, defect resolution, and release deployment activities in an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing complex queries, scripts, and stored procedures in DB2 UDB or PL/SQL database platforms.
• Expert proficiency in Linux/Unix shell scripting.
• Solid hands-on experience programming in Python and/or Perl.
• Practical understanding of Autosys or enterprise job scheduling software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and technical documentation skills.
• Must be available to work hybrid (3 days per week onsite) in Montreal, QC.
