KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Software Development: Design, develop, and implement software solutions using Python. • Product Engineering: Design, build, deploy and operate production-grade software at enterprise scale, owning features end to end. • Applied AI/ML: Own the full machine learning life cycle – data exploration and preprocessing, model selection and training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring and optimisation – inside deployed products, not research notebooks. • Code Quality & Review: Maintain high coding standards, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers. • Technical Leadership: Contribute to the technical direction and success of projects, guiding and mentoring the team. • Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for code, design, and implementation. • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, working collaboratively with stakeholders. • Cloud Integration: Architect scalable and resilient solutions utilizing AWS, Azure, or GCP. • CI/CD Implementation: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes. • MLOps & Reliability: Establish monitoring, alerting, and automated retraining/rollback pipelines for production ML models. MUST-HAVE SKILLS • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Python. • Hands-on experience building and deploying software products, with substantial experience developing and deploying AI/ML models in production. • Proficient in AI and machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn) and modern AI tooling. • Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices. • Proficiency with CI/CD tools for efficient software delivery. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, able to work effectively with teams and stakeholders. • Ability to thrive in an Agile development environment. • Experience mentoring engineers and setting technical direction across a small team or pod. NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS • Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • Experience in startup environments, adapting quickly to fast-paced changes. • Client-facing experience, understanding client needs and implementing solutions. • Expertise in low latency or ultra-low latency coding practices. • Background in financial services – banks, asset managers, or fintech. • Applied generative AI experience: LLM-powered features, retrieval, agents or fine-tuning in production. • Prior experience presenting AI/ML architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders or leadership.
