Description

The Senior Technical Sales & Applications Engineer is a high-level technical, applications, and commercial position responsible for developing customer relationships, evaluating technical requirements, developing application solutions, identifying new business opportunities, supporting complex customer programs, and driving profitable revenue growth across PAC's strategic markets. This position serves as a critical technical bridge between PAC's engineering and manufacturing capabilities and the technical and commercial needs of its customers. The individual will work directly with customer engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and executive stakeholders to understand application requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, recommend appropriate PAC materials and manufacturing solutions, and support customers from initial concept through qualification, production, and ongoing commercial support. The role requires a strong understanding of powder metallurgy, MCrAlY alloys, and ceramics, as well as their applications in various thermal spray and HVOF applications. This role also requires an understanding of the manufacturing of such materials with the ability to correlate manufacturing practices to application performance. The Senior Technical Sales & Applications Engineer will progressively assume greater responsibility for customer relationships, technical solution development, application engineering, strategic accounts, new business development, revenue generation, forecasting, commercial negotiations, and market strategy. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Applications Engineering & Technical Solution Development · Serve as a primary technical resource for customers evaluating PAC products, materials, and manufacturing capabilities. · Review customer specifications, application requirements, and performance criteria, and technical documentation. Translate customer technical requirements into practical PAC material, product, and manufacturing solutions with a focus on optimizing production capabilities and capacities. · Evaluate application feasibility, manufacturability, technical risks, and potential production constraints. · Recommend appropriate materials, processes, product configurations, and technical approaches based on customer requirements. · Ensure proposed solutions are technically achievable and aligned with PAC's manufacturing capabilities. · Develop technical documentation, presentations, application recommendations, and other customer-facing materials as required. · Serve as the technical advocate for the customer while protecting PAC's technical, operational, quality, and commercial interests. Strategic Technical Sales · Develop and execute sales strategies for assigned customers, industries, products, and geographic markets. · Identify new applications, markets, customers, and revenue opportunities. · Develop technical proposals that clearly communicate PAC's value proposition. · Lead technical discussions with customer engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and executive stakeholders. · Establish PAC as a trusted technical and commercial partner rather than simply a product supplier. Customer & OEM Relationships · Develop and maintain relationships with engineering, procurement, quality, operations, and executive-level contacts with key customers. · Develop relationships with industry technical committees, major aerospace OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, military customers, industrial manufacturers, and other strategic accounts. · Represent PAC professionally at customer facilities, industry conferences, trade shows, and strategic meetings. Cross-Functional Business Leadership · Partner with the operations to improve manufacturing processes to improve process capability. · Identify technical or operational constraints that could affect customer commitments. · Help resolve customer issues that cross departmental boundaries. · Build strong internal relationships and facilitate effective communication between the customer and PAC's technical and operational teams. QUALIFICATIONS Required · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. · 10+ years of progressive technical experience in design, manufacturing or repair of turbine engine components or a related field. · Experience managing complex, technical, industrial, manufacturing, or engineered-product sales. · Demonstrated experience managing major customer relationships and complex sales cycles. · Ability to travel regularly to customers, prospects, trade shows, industry events, and company locations. Preferred · Experience in powder metallurgy, metal powders, additive manufacturing, engineered materials, specialty metals, or related industries. · Experience selling to OEMs, Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, industrial manufacturers, automotive, aerospace, defense, energy, or other technically sophisticated customers. · Experience selling highly engineered or customized products.
