Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Fremont, CA Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer supports New Product Introduction (NPI) at our Fremont facility, working from Engineering 3D models to plan, build and refine new semiconductor equipment systems. You will bridge Engineering and Production, ensuring new designs can be built efficiently, consistently and with high quality before release to volume manufacturing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Own the transition of new products from Engineering to production in an NPI environment, building complex semiconductor capital equipment systems directly from Engineering 3D models (CAD) and released BOMsReview 3D models, assembly drawings and ECOs during design and prototype phases; provide design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly (DFM/DFA) feedback to EngineeringDevelop assembly sequences, work instructions, routings and process documentation from 3D models to build first-article, prototype and pilot systemsLead build readiness, first-build and pilot-build execution; document lessons learned and drive corrective actions back into the designManage BOM and engineering change flow (PLM/ERP), ensuring model, BOM and work instruction accuracy across revisionsDesign and install equipment; integrate subsystems such as wet/dry process modules, fluid and gas delivery, vacuum, electrical and wafer handling and transportPartner with Design, Process, Controls, Supply Chain and Quality engineers to resolve build issues, shortages and delays in real timeWork with suppliers and contractors on fabrication, sourcing and supplier readiness for new parts and assembliesDefine and validate production processes, test procedures and quality criteria; support system-level test, qualification and shipment readinessIdentify opportunities to reduce cost, cycle time and build variation while maximizing quality and yield, and scale processes from prototype to volume productionCreate and deliver training for technicians and assemblers on new and existing assembly processesEnsure manufacturing procedures follow safety, SEMI S2 and environmental regulations Qualifications 3+ years as a manufacturing engineer, NPI engineer or similar role, preferably in semiconductor or capital equipment manufacturingProven experience building or transitioning new products from Engineering 3D models, assembly drawings and BOMs to productionProficiency reading and navigating 3D CAD assemblies (SolidWorks preferred) and working with PLM/ERP systems; strong knowledge of GD&TKnowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, tool design, and design for manufacturability/assemblyFamiliarity with semiconductor process equipment and subsystems (e.g. wet/dry process, vacuum, fluid and gas delivery, electrical/controls) and quality assurance techniquesAbility to create work instructions, assembly documentation and process controls for low-volume, high-mix buildsCommitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations; SEMI S2 familiarity is a plusProject management skills, with the ability to manage multiple builds and shifting priorities in a fast-paced NPI environmentStrong problem-solving, communication and cross-functional teamwork skillsProficiency with MS Office; Lean/Six Sigma exposure is a plusAbility to occasionally work late shiftsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical discipline); post-graduate degree is a plus Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $85,000 –$95,000 per year; higher compensation may be available depending on advanced skills and/or specific experience.YES also offers a performance-based annual bonus and a competitive benefits package, which includes a 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, in addition to flexible PTO.
