About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer 2 to join Verisk’s dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing our AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Your primary responsibilities will include automating infrastructure deployment, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our production systems. Collaborating closely with senior engineers, software developers, security teams, and operations personnel, you will contribute to building scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions that support our enterprise objectives. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by practical experience. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles, with a minimum of two years supporting or managing AWS cloud environments. Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53, ELB, and Auto Scaling is essential. Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline is required. Additionally, familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CDK and/or CloudFormation, containerization with Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, and scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell is highly desirable. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills are critical for success in this role. Responsibilities The DevOps Engineer 2 will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving AWS cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK or CloudFormation, ensuring compliance with security, governance, and operational standards. Building, updating, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline will be a core aspect of the role, supporting reliable and automated software delivery. The engineer will support containerized applications and cloud-native services, leveraging Docker, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS to facilitate scalable deployment architectures. Contributing to infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Splunk, and other observability solutions is essential for maintaining system health and performance. The role also involves participating in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and deployment support to ensure high availability and operational stability. Collaboration with various teams—including software engineering, security, architecture, and infrastructure—is vital to implement DevSecOps practices, support cloud migration initiatives, and enhance operational efficiencies. Additionally, documenting processes, contributing to technical standards, sharing knowledge, and identifying automation and cost optimization opportunities will be part of your responsibilities.
