About the Role
Mechademy is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with enterprise customers, including power plants, LNG terminals, refineries, and gas processing and pipeline operators, deploying Turbomechanica, our physics-informed ML platform for rotating equipment, into production environments.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing engineering role that sits at the intersection of software engineering, solutions architecture, and customer success.
You will build real diagnostics and monitoring integrations while partnering directly with customers to solve technical problems on their equipment and their systems.
This role is open to both recent graduates and engineers with 2+ years of experience.
Responsibilities:
Deployment & Integration
• Build and deploy Turbomechanica integrations for enterprise operators.
• Develop connections using Python, JavaScript, APIs, historians, CMMS/ERP systems, and other plant systems.
• Design prototypes, demos, and production-ready implementations.
• Drive projects from initial concept through production deployment.
Customer Partnership
• Partner directly with customers to gather requirements and translate operating problems into technical solutions.
• Translate customer feedback into product improvements and new capabilities.
Collaboration & Domain Learning
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering.
• Build fluency in physics-informed modeling, anomaly detection, and diagnostics workflows for turbines, compressors, pumps, and engines.
Requirements
For Candidates with 2+ Years of Experience
• 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role: Solutions Engineering, Software Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Technical Product Management, Customer Success Engineering, or Founder/Startup experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-level experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar.
• Experience working directly with customers and external stakeholders.
For Recent Graduates
• Recent graduate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Internship experience in software engineering or a technical customer-facing role preferred.
• Strong coding skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar.
For All Candidates
• Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Interest in industrial technology, applied ML, and physics-informed modeling.
• Comfortable taking ownership and learning quickly.
What This Role Offers
• Top-of-market compensation and equity.
• Significant ownership and visibility from day one.
• Work directly with power, LNG, refining, and pipeline operators solving real equipment problems.
• Exposure to physics-informed ML on live industrial systems, not synthetic benchmarks.
• Remote-first with flexibility, with Houston preferred for proximity to Gulf Coast customers.
• Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates.
• Small, high-performing team with a massive growth trajectory.
• Help define the future of industrial AI.
Location
• Remote (Houston, TX preferred)
