About the Opportunity: The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (REPOSITORY) role focuses on leading the architecture and development of core systems within the customer-facing infrastructure that delivers secure open source artifacts. This position is critical for maintaining and expanding the platform that supports package registries, APIs, and production services, ensuring high scale and reliability. The role contributes by enhancing backend infrastructure and shaping the repository experience across various artifact types. Responsibilities: Lead technical direction for key components of the repository platform, including registries and APIs.Design, build, and operate backend services in Go for current and future artifact types.Oversee scalability, reliability, observability, and load testing of production systems.Make technical decisions on repository architecture and operational patterns.Collaborate with engineers to unify and expand repository support for multiple artifact types. Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems with demonstrated senior ownership.Strong proficiency in Go or equivalent backend systems experience.Experience with customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries or APIs.Skilled in deploying and managing production services with focus on reliability and performance.Comfortable across application and infrastructure layers, including cloud infrastructure and tools like Terraform.Proactive problem-solving approach with strong systems instincts.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in remote environments.
