About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, securing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our product environments across AWS and AWS GovCloud.
You will own the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant releases that meet stringent government standards such as FedRAMP High, GovRAMP Moderate, and IL5.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating within highly regulated environments, with a strong focus on automation, security, and scalability.
This position reports directly to the SVP of Engineering and offers an excellent opportunity to influence the infrastructure and operational excellence of a fast-growing cybersecurity startup.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.Minimum of 2+ years operating workloads in AWS GovCloud.Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure under FedRAMP High or Moderate, GovRAMP/StateRAMP, or DoD IL5 frameworks.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; active or eligible for a federal security clearance.Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and their application in infrastructure and pipeline design.Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.Expertise in CI/CD pipeline tools like Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar.Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Rundeck.Knowledge of queuing systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SQS.Experience supporting database deployment and schema migrations with Postgres, Flyway, or similar tools.Understanding of networking fundamentals, including subnets and environment segmentation.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.Familiarity with Linux, AWS CLI, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Docker, Jenkins, Nagios, and related tools.Experience working in startup environments and collaborative engineering teams.Optional: Knowledge of MongoDB, Python/Django, data structures, and algorithms.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate projects into production AWS and AWS GovCloud environments, providing ongoing support.Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid and secure deployment cycles.Support Helm chart packaging and manage ArgoCD/GitOps workflows for Kubernetes deployments.Operate and harden infrastructure within compliance-heavy environments, ensuring continuous adherence to FedRAMP High, GovRAMP Moderate, and IL5 standards.Manage environment segmentation, secrets management, and access controls aligned with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP controls.Oversee Kubernetes workloads, Helm chart versioning, and promote releases across multiple environments.Develop scalable infrastructure services in AWS and support hybrid cloud/on-premise deployments.Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for repeatable and auditable provisioning processes.Support database deployment, schema migration, and integration with release cycles.Build and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and automation tools to meet government-grade availability and incident response standards.Partner with Security and GRC teams to prepare documentation, evidence, and ongoing compliance assessments for FedRAMP and GovRAMP.Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation efforts to meet audit requirements.Develop automation tools to streamline operations and enhance productivity across production environments.Ensure alignment of environments with product roadmaps while maintaining compliance and security standards.Promote DevOps best practices, emphasizing security, reliability, scalability, and automation throughout the development lifecycle.
