About The Role Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-stakes projects supporting national security and space exploration initiatives. The position can be based in Aurora, CO, Morrisville, NC, or Sacramento, CA, providing flexibility to qualified candidates. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of complex software systems. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile development environment to support rapid capability maturation and deployment. Qualifications The ideal candidate must hold an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access. An active CI Polygraph is also required at the time of application. U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience for Principal level or 8 years for Senior Principal, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform are essential. Experience with Linux or related operating systems and familiarity with Agile software development methodologies are also required. Additionally, candidates should be prepared to obtain Security+ certification within six months of employment. Responsibilities Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid capability development, testing, and deployment.Integrate development pipelines utilizing automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration/test frameworks.Define and implement standards for build, deployment, provisioning, and system monitoring.Ensure software configuration management, code quality, and automated testing are integrated into CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with Agile teams to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management tasks.Create scripts and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.Work closely with development teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.Monitor and support existing systems and infrastructure, ensuring operational stability and performance.Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Participate in designing operational support systems and maintaining system security, backups, and redundancy strategies.Evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions in collaboration with developers.Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and management tools.
