Visit our website: Heineken (heineken-dt.pl) As the Data Engineering Lead, you will be a leader of the data engineering team working on in-house products in for Data Foundation Collaborating closely with Product Owner(s), Product Architect(s) and other DataOps teams you will need to understand the business needs, helping Product Architect(s) to convert those needs into solution architecture specifications and services in line with overall engineering standards and roadmaps. You will be driving excellence in engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle in our IT landscape. This role involves hands-on development work. This role will directly report to Engineering Manager Your Responsibilities Would Include leading a team of experienced team members of Data Engineers in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, reliable, and high performing software solutionsleading the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processesmonitoring and optimizing data infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and issuesleading the team from a technical standpoint, driving operational excellence, including code reviews, design reviews, testing and deployment processesbeing an individual contributor (~60%) engineering the software products/solutions, jointly with the teamensuring that the team adheres to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines, oversee team spirit and team performance, guide and mentor team membersoverseeing the implementation of the technical architecture, solving immediate technical challenges.implementing good practices, coding standards and modern architecture for DataOps; be a “go-to-person for technical decisions and problem-solving within the teamensuring that the execution of DataOps is in place in the team's daily workinspiring, advising and driving the selection of development approachcoordinating software development and address technical debt in the teamhiring, onboarding, mentoring and developing top engineering talents, fostering a culture of learningoverseeing team spirit, performance and providing guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional and personal growth & developmentbuilding career path and incentive structure for teams, enable and empower team members to achieve themgrowing new generation of talents and future leadersdriving collaboration, and continuous improvementleading technical discussions with other teams/departments and oversees state-of-art quality of the stackinvolvement in cross-functional discussions, representing the domain in broader technical discussions across domainsresponsibility for designing and improving processes that enhance efficiency and qualitycommunication with Engineering Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst/Business user and Scrum Master to align on project. / sprint goals, timeline and resource allocation. You are a good candidate if you have: 8+ years of working experience in in field of Data Engineering, Software Engineering5+ years of experience in managerial positionhands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of:Azure cloud data services & technologiesAzure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta live tablesData Modelling & ArchitectureETL pipeline design Expert in Python, Pyspark and SQLAzure Data FactoryAzure DevOpsLogging and Monitoring using Azure / Databricks servicesApache KafkaDatabricks online tableSynapse, Fabric, PowerBI, Azure Functions, Azure Logic appsJirastrong understanding and implementation of software development principles, coding standards, and modern architecturehands-on experience in implementing and managing End-to-End DataOps / Data Engineering projects in a teamproven ability to lead software development teams of engineers with varying experience and adapt to team sizes from small to largeexperience in working in diverse projects with varying technologies, products, and systems Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical technical decisionsability to guide / mentor other team membersexperience with leadership as a successful people managerstakeholder engagement/influence skillspragmatic, and collaborative approachexperience with Databricks, Data pipelines, CI/CDproficiency in Python, SQL and big data technologies in Cloud environment Nice to have: Azure API servicesMicrosoft Entra IDGCP & AWS cloud services knowledgeAzure NetworkingShell scripting / Azure CLI knowledge At HEINEKEN Kraków, we take integrity and ethical conduct seriously.
