Spray Foam Insulation Tasmania Pty Ltd is a Launceston-based, Tasmanian-owned business providing spray foam insulation to homes, sheds, warehouses, greenhouses and commercial buildings across the state.
We're growing, and we're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to look after our specialised equipment and vehicle fleet.
Salary: $79,500 per year + superannuation | Full-time, permanent | Launceston, TAS (travel across Tasmania)
About the role
You'll keep our spray foam rigs, plant and vans in safe, reliable working order so our installation crews can work without downtime.
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for:
Planning and carrying out preventive maintenance on our spray foam rigs – plural-component proportioners, heated hoses, spray guns, transfer pumps, air compressors and generatorsDiagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faultsCalibrating and testing equipment to manufacturer specifications (temperature, pressure and mix ratio)Managing the servicing schedule of our rig vans, trailers and service vehiclesPreparing technical drawings (SolidWorks/CAD) for rig layouts, fit-outs and modificationsInstalling and commissioning new equipment and upgradesOrdering parts, liaising with suppliers and keeping maintenance records up to dateTraining installers in correct equipment use and daily careAbout you
Diploma or higher in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related field, or at least 3 years of relevant experienceAt least 12 months' experience as a mechanical or mechatronics technician, or in a similar role maintaining industrial plant and equipmentStrong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical fault-finding skillsAbility to read and prepare technical drawings (SolidWorks/CAD)Good understanding of WHS and safe handling of chemicalsExperience with spray foam or plural-component spray equipment is highly regardedForklift / EWP licence and a current driver licence are an advantageWhat we offer
